A Brick House project is never just a structure. It is the culmination of a vision. As design connoisseurs with a personal and professional connection to Washington D.C., the Brick House team is committed to positively evolving the culture of the city for posterity. Seeking out the most prominent suppliers of our time, Brick House has pushed parameters in every aspect; setting new standards in the process. With creativity and profitability working in tandem, landmarks regain their lost luster towards a radiant future. Brick House’s eclectic and distinguished portfolio is designed to be appreciated from both a creative and investment perspective.

Martha Shaw Peterson, most well known for being the mom to triplets and twins!, has teamed up with her son Chase Whitley to create the design/build firm – The Brick House.

After graduating from Wake Forest University, Martha moved back to her hometown of Alexandra, VA and became a real estate appraiser and real estate agent. From there Martha took her knowledge of buying and selling real estate along with a deeper awareness of it’s value and started flipping houses in the 90’s. The stage was set!

Chase attended High Point University, majoring in interior design. Throughout college, Chase interned with design firms in NYC and Washington D.C. Upon graduating, he decided he wanted to go out on his own. Chase quickly created a following of his own while taking on various projects in the Washington D.C. area. Aside from his own business, Chase found himself increasingly collaborating on projects with his mom.

In 2018 the mother and son team created The Brick House (a name the kids called the house they grew up in). “It is a dream come true to officially work together with Chase and at times my other children”. Growing up, Martha’s triplets and twins were always involved in her various projects to include some of their own homes that they flipped. “We now start off every day with a morning meeting to strategize the days events and throw ideas off one another, whatever kids are home are always involved as well.”

Chase’s young, fresh approach to design is continually breathing new life into their predominantly historic makeovers. They look forward to working many years together building their family brand and letting The Brick House take them on an exciting and creative journey.
